Gillian Bishop has over 30 years’ experience as a highly skilled strategic and inclusive leader working across the public, private and charitable sectors. She has extensive experience of leading large organisations through change, improvement and transformation within the context of austerity and integration, across a range of disciplines.
Gillian has held Chief Executive and senior Executive positions since 2002 in local government, central government, public-private partnerships and large scale charities. Central to her leadership style and approach is collaboration and co-design both internally and externally with partners and stakeholders in order to build trusting and effective networks and partnerships.
Her leadership roles have required her to create innovative and commercial solutions to ensure ongoing viability and future growth. She has achieved this by maximising external funding opportunities and support, transforming services to ensure efficiency and best value and creating commercial opportunities to secure future financial sustainability.
Gillian is a qualified Executive and Team coach and an experienced facilitator of senior teams and Executive Boards. She uses her knowledge and expertise in her Non-Executive Director roles, to Chair the Lampton Leisure Board, as a Board member of Lampton Homes & Investments and Lampton Group Board and also as a Charitable Trustee for a Leisure & Culture Trust alongside supporting local activities and organisations.
