Lampton Leisure Teams Up With Brentford FC
Lampton Leisure, who operate leisure services in the London Borough of Hounslow, has partnered with Brentford FC Community Trust and The Positive Movement Project to provide a new activity programme for 11-15-year-olds.
The “Free to Be Me” initiative has been created to help young people get more physically active and reduce childhood obesity rates across the borough. The sessions, which will run across three sites, are free to attend and include a range of sports targeted at different groups and abilities, including a football class designed to inspire girls of South Asian heritage.
The classes can be booked from now until the end of September. The timetable includes:
South Asian Girls Football, Mondays 4.30 – 6pm (Heston Pools & Fitness)
Multi Sports, Tuesdays 4.30 – 6pm (Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre)
Street Dance, Wednesdays 4.30 – 6pm (Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre)
The initiative forms part of Lampton Leisure’s ongoing commitment to improving access to health and wellbeing services for all communities across Hounslow.
Paula Vincent, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Lampton Leisure, commented: “Childhood obesity is a real issue in Hounslow. We are delighted to be partnering with Brentford FC Community Trust and The Positive Movement Project. Together we aim to provide classes that will help young people across the borough to take charge of their wellbeing and get active in a fun and engaging way.”
